This is the same reason why GW isn't offering special GW edition, which is exactly the same as regular, except that it costs $1000. I mean, they need money, right? So it would make sense to offer something too expensive for multi-millionaires who don't want to break that nice $1000 bill.

i think he's talking about if you had bought the regular version of GW at first but then bought the GOTY Edition or the Collector's Edition later on.

The easiest is for ANet to offer gift cards kind of like is done with WoW that are used to pay for the monthly fee. Go to anyplace that sells the game and buy a card in $10 amounts the go online and enter the gift card number to get what you want from the online store.
